i've read Japan Ai and I personaly think that it is great though it has a few details that I dont believe such as how how she lost her luggage then found it.Other than that I think that the book is a magnificent guild to Japanese culture.

O_o  Well I'm not sure why you would find that unbelievable.  Maybe just because so much luggage gets permanently lost these days?  The Japanese are much better at finding it than we are, FWIW.

If you're curious to know about Japan Ai's origins, it came out of Aimee being an animator who likes to draw everything all the time.  When she took that trip to Japan, she took along her diary and sketched a lot of stuff.  When she got back, she told me about it while we were out singing karaoke and I said, "Aimee, I want to see it!!!"  The art was so cute we decided to publish it as a book.

It was loads of fun.  I still love flipping through the art, even though I've seen it a zillion times.
