Minor spoilers

One question: What is the romance Audry is alluding to in her notes at the end of book ten, the one we all supposed to have been waiting for? Does she mean Lucrezia and Chiaro ( Bleh!) or Chiaro and Cesare? If it's the former I couldn't care less unless she dies at the end and relieves us of her misery. If it is the later then bring it on

I'm really, really hoping that it's Chiaro and Cesare, to be honest. Setting aside the fact that I enjoy shonen-ai, Chiaro and Cesare are just -meant- for one another level upon level. Cesare NEEDS it!

:) It's like Zadei and Tetei...it's just right, no matter what they went through.

End spoiler

Besides :( I tend not to like Higuri's female protagonists very much, and NOT because they stand in the way of people clearly...Lucrezia needs to be poked with a spoon VERY hard. *grump* I feel like she's home-wrecking. She's so innocently self-centered that it's not only malicious. but aggravating because that maliciousness isn't intentional [does that make sense?] plus we have to listen to her internal angst at the same time. You're greedy and fickle, you know it, move on with life.

Chiaro needs to be poked also, but maybe with a wooden spoon instead of a silver one. More internal battles between Lucrezia and Cesare. We assume based on his character he loves Lucrezia, but he says repeatedly that he lives for Cesare.

When you can voice one and not the other, shouldn't that make it more clear?

Maybe I shouldn't post before carefully editing my reply...This wasn't meant to be a rant!

But in the end, I have faith in Higuri-Sensei. I don't think that's I've ever been disappointed with the endings she's given me, couples included (though I did hope Hilda would die...Lucrezia is much more bearable though ), so I won't doubt her.

Maybe I can scrounge up the money to buy the 11th when it comes out in...yeah, long time.

Oh! Quick question for those who know: Will the release of vol. 11 in the U.S. be in conjuction with the (eventual) release in Japan, or post-Japanese release? :) If you don't mind sharing, of course.

*in the meantime, is content that she won't have manga she MUST buy for now. Yay being a poor college student!*

:D You Higuri's website was updated with something about Cantarella!!!!!!   From what the online translators say, Cantarella is scheduled to resume spring-summer 2009!!!!!!!!!!

^_^ I can not wait for Cantarella to start back up.  Hmm, just wondering if there is any chance for volume 11 to be released in the US around the same time as it is in Japan?

Not much of a chance (sigh).  We're known as having a fast turnaround time, which means it takes us 5 months to turn a Japanese tankobon into a printed English edition.  We usually can't get to work on a book until it's been released in tankobon format in Japan, so that would be 5-6 months from the time volume 11 premieres in Japan.  (However, if we can find a way to speed up the process, we will!)

All I can say is that Higuri-sensei loves the Chiaro/Cesare pairing.  My impression is that it's closer to her heart than any other pairing in the series.

I will dutifully not get my hopes up, so that if it turns out that way, I can celebrate properly.
