So what would YOUR dream vacation to Japan involve?  Steamy onsen?  Bookstores filled with manga?  A new ramen joint every day?  Afternoon tea at a butler cafe?  All of the above??? ;-)  You tell us!

Tokyo Disneyland. *sigh*

I've been to Japan in the autumn and seen the red maples. It was absolutely the most gorgeous fall foliage I'd ever seen - and I grew up a short drive from the Hudson Valley.

But I missed Tokyo Disneyland. That's my dream. :D

Well, I actually live in Japan, but I always love the cherry blossom, the marple leaves (Moniji) oh and I love Japanese Izakaya, where you can feast on little snacks the whole evening *yummy*

I also recommend the nightview of Hakodate. O.k. I live there  but it is really famous all over Japan...

Might I recommend Tokyo DisneySea instead?  Tokyo Disneyland is very similar to California Disneyland, but DisneySea is like no other theme park in the world.  It may have the Disney name attached, but it was built and designed by the Japanese -- and they did a fantastic job.  It's a beautiful space to just be in; you don't even have to go on any rides or see any shows to feel like you got your money's worth.

For those, who also want to see the countryside, I recommend to see the Mizubasho and Rhododendron (Tsutsuji) blossom.

It may be not as famous as the cherry-blossom, but it is incredible as well.
